About

Shalini Singh

Hey there! I’m Shalini — wine enthusiast, storyteller, and the face behind WineTelegrams.

My love for wine has taken me on an incredible journey — from exploring vineyards to connecting with winemakers and sharing stories about wine with people like you.

I was fortunate to receive the James Beard Scholarship to study Wine and Gastronomy Management at Le Cordon Bleu in London. There, I learned all about viticulture, wine production, and the wine trade — and yes, I had the chance to taste thousands of wines to sharpen my palate.

While expert training is valuable, I firmly believe that the best way to learn about wine is to simply drink, drink, drink. The more you taste, the more you understand. The more you understand, the better your choices become.

My wine adventures have taken me across Europe — from spending months exploring the wines of Spain, France, and Portugal, to diving into the lesser-known wine regions of Luxembourg and Greece. Each experience has deepened my love for wine, its stories, and the people behind it. Up next? I’m thinking of heading to the emerging wine regions of Eastern Europe — or maybe exploring the exciting wine scene in South America. Stay tuned!

I created WineTelegrams in 2020 and wanted this to be a space where wine feels approachable, exciting, and full of stories. Whether you’re curious about what’s in your glass, planning a wine trip, or just want to know what to order at dinner, this website is here to guide you.

But between 2022 and 2024, I was busy pursuing a Masters degree in Wine Tourism Innovation and this project took a backseat. However, I am back now and plan to revive this.

Expect wine tips, travel insights, hidden gems, and even a few “cheat codes” to help you understand and enjoy wine better.

Alongside writing and exploring, I also work as a consultant, helping brands and businesses develop creative content strategies, wine marketing campaigns, and engaging storytelling for their audiences.

For more wine discoveries, behind-the-scenes adventures, and tips on what to drink next, follow me on Instagram: @WineTelegrams.

Thanks for joining me on this journey — and remember, the best bottle is the one you enjoy most.

Cheers! 🍷
